Monday January 3, the weather will be cloudy with sustained rains in the North, sunny in the South despite local fog in the early morning. On the southern half, if it will be necessary to reckon with local fog in the early morning, in particular from Limousin to the north of Midi-Pyrénées and near the Mediterranean, the rest of the day will be rather sunny. Some greyness may nevertheless be more persistent on the Côte d’Azur and around Corsica.
North of a line connecting Lyon to the mouth of the Gironde, the sky will be very cloudy to overcast. In the morning, rains will gain Brittany, the Pays de la Loire and Lower Normandy before spreading to the entire North-West third as far as the Hauts de France, Champagne-Ardenne and Lorraine. The rains will often be sustained and lasting.
The wind will be moderate from the southwest with gusts of 60 km / h on the Channel coasts, sometimes 50 km / h in the interior. It will strengthen in the evening from South Brittany to the Pays de la Loire with sometimes 80 km / h on the coasts the following night. The minimum temperatures will be milder on the northern half under the clouds, with 6 to 11 degrees, than under the sunny skies of the southern half, where they can drop to 1 to 8 degrees. In the afternoon, on the other hand, we will have 10 to 13 degrees in the North and 14 to 20 in the South.
