Browns Vs Steelers Betting Odds: Opening Odds, Point Spread, Total, Predictions, And Betting Tips For Week 3 Matchup – NFL

In addition to Sunday Night Football and Monday Night Football, the NFL is closing its Week 2 Sunday schedule. We have some early odds to get you set for Week 3 in the interim.

Kickoff for this week’s game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns is scheduled for 00:15 UTC on Friday, Sept. 23.

After today’s 17-14 loss to the New England Patriots, the Steelers are now 1-1. Starting quarterback Mitch Trubisky was repeatedly booed by the home crowd. The Pat’s defense also sacked Trubisky three times.

The New York Jets staged an incredible comeback, but the Cleveland Browns were on the other end, losing 31-30 in Week 2 after blowing a 13-point lead in the game’s final two minutes. Also, 1-0 going into this game in Cleveland.

Thursday Night Football kicks off Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season with a matchup between rival division teams. In an AFC North clash, the Cleveland Browns will face the Pittsburgh Steelers; both squads are winless after Week 2 losses.

In 2021, Pittsburgh won both games against Cleveland, who wanted to maintain their home advantage.

Cleveland kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET. The newest Steelers vs. Browns odds see Cleveland as a 5-point favorite while the over/under, or the total number of points Vegas anticipates being scored, is 38.5.

Browns Vs Steelers Betting Tips

The AFC North had a bad weekend this past weekend. Without Dak Prescott, the Cincinnati Bengals fell to the Dallas Cowboys and kept killing Joe Burrow. The Baltimore Ravens lost a sizable lead by allowing four touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

With only two minutes to go, the Browns wasted a 13-point lead against Joe Flacco. Additionally, watching the Steelers’ offense is excruciating.

The Steelers have two offensive touchdowns after two weeks, yet they are somehow 1-0 in the division. The offensive line performed better against New England this week. Still, Matt Canada refused to call downfield passes, Najee Harris didn’t appear to be at full strength, and Mitch Trubisky threw a careless interception.

However, they missed TJ Watt up front. On the other side of the ball, the defense performed admirably, and Minkah Fitzpatrick had another interception. They produced almost no pressure, had no sacks, and could not halt the later stages’ run.

The Browns only want to run the ball. In Week 2, Nick Chubb defeated New York with 87 yards on 17 carries and three touchdowns. Due to their linebackers’ poor tackling in Week 2, I don’t believe the Steeler’s front will be able to prevent Chubb and Kareem Hunt from coming out of the backfield.

The Steelers’ left tackle, Dan Moore Jr., has a pass blocking grade of 78.7 on PFF this year. Last year, he dealt with Myles Garrett with some success, but I don’t think the Steeler’s offensive line will hold up this year.

Cleveland will apply pressure because Pittsburgh cannot do so, and in a contest that will almost surely depend on errors, Cleveland appears to be in the lead.

Browns -4.5 would be the play, but I could never take it because I won’t wager against my team. After this game, I believe Steelers supporters will be itching to see Kenny Pickett take the field.

Another episode of Thursday Night Football will feature a game between the Browns and the Steelers. Both teams are recovering from heartbreaking defeats in week two, but they are doing so in very different ways.

  • The Steelers played the entire game from a deficit because they could not ignite their offense at any moment.  To end the first half with a 10-3 lead against the visiting Steelers, Nelson Agholor caught a 44-yard pass from Mac Jones.
  • The Patriots eventually took a 17-6 lead in the third quarter, and even though their defense tightened up, their offense was unable to score enough points to overcome the deficit.
  • Diontae Johnson and Pat Freiermuth, respectively, would haul in the 8-yard touchdown reception and the succeeding 2-point conversion.
  • With only 168 passing yards on 21-33, Mitch Trubisky had a subpar performance. He also had a touchdown and an interception. Mac Jones completed 21 35 passes for 252 yards, one touchdown, and one pick. Damien Harris added another touchdown with 71 yards of rushing.

The Browns led by 31-17…oops, 30-17 since the extra point was missed. Am I right, kickers? It would be significant if the Jets led by 13 points instead of 14, as they would come back and kick the game-winning extra point 93 seconds later.

A 66-yard bomb from Joe Flacco found its target in Corey Davis. The Jets were in business after an onside kick. Joe Flacco successfully connected with Garrett Wilson on a 15-yard extended slant to win the game.

The Browns will now look to bounce back in week three. A backdrop between the AFC North rivals will be provided by FirstEnergy Stadium and Brownie the Elf.

Browns vs Steelers Team News

In five straight games, Cleveland has failed to cover the spread despite being the home favorite. The Browns have covered just three times in their last 13 games in this situation.

Following the destruction of Cleveland’s secondary by Joe Flacco and the Jets, Pittsburgh’s elite pass-catching core should succeed. Given that Mitch Trubisky and the Steelers are one of the few teams without a quarterback advantage, Pittsburgh’s advantages should prevail across the board.

Browns vs Steelers Head-to-Head Stats

This season, the Browns have compiled a 1-1-0 record against the spread. The Browns had never won when they were at least 5.5-point favorites and failed to cover the spread (0-1).

Only once this season has Cleveland been our favorite, and that time they lost the game. Only one game this season has Cleveland been our favorite of -210 or less, and that game ended in a defeat.

Games involving the Browns have hit the over twice this season. This season, the over has been hit twice in games involving the Browns. The Steelers have only once beaten the spread (1-0-1).

The Steelers have a perfect ATS record of 1-0 in games they have played as underdogs of 5.5 points or more. Pittsburgh has gotten a split in the two games it has played this season as the underdog.

Pittsburgh has only played as a +180 or more underdog all season, and they have won that game. The total has not yet been broken in a Steelers game this year.

The Steelers are our selection to win this game, and we anticipate they will cover the spread (Browns -5.5).  Finally, this game’s scoring exceeded the reported total of 39 points.
