Cristiano Ronaldo Is Set to Sign a Deal with AC Milan

It’s the last day of the summer 2022 transfer window. Manchester United’s iconic number seven, Cristiano Ronaldo, might get what he has wished for this summer – a transfer to another club.

Cristiano Ronaldo Could Get Transfer To AC Milan

According to the reports, Cristiano Ronaldo could get a deadline day transfer to the Italian giant AC Milan.

Incidentally, the transfer market is already closed for the most major European market, but for some, there are still some hours remaining, and they could go completely crazy. The Portuguese star was trying hard to get away from the English club and has been linked with several clubs recently, but the Reds didn’t receive any offer for the superstar.

However, the situation could change at the transfer window’s final hours, should Milan decide to proceed with the deal and sign the six-time Ballon d’Or winner. Reportedly, Milan is also in talks with English club Chelsea for the transfer of Rafael Leao. If the deal proceeds, the Serie A champions might sign Cristiano Ronaldo as his replacement.

As per the reports, the Blues are interested in signing Leao. However, the humongous fee of €126 million is a hurdle Chelsea must overcome. Moreover, the fee includes a fine of €13.9 million Leao was ordered to pay to Sporting Lisbon because the Portuguese forward canceled his contract with the Portuguese club when he joined Lille in 2018.

Ronaldo Staying With The Reds?

Before the news came that Ronaldo might be moving to AC Milan, it was largely expected that the football superstar would stay with the English club. Answering a question on the previous Wednesday, Erick Ten Hag, the head coach of Manchester United, reportedly said that the 37-year-old striker will stay with the English champions this summer.

Earlier, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes was trying hard to secure a deal for the iconic player. He even tried negotiating a possible move to Stamford Bridge for his client. Reportedly, Mendes had several meetings with Chelsea bosses to secure a passage for Ronaldo to the Blues. However, the west London club was more interested in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Despite these rumors, the United Hard Coach, Erick Ten Hag, was hopeful that CR7 would be happy to stay at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag believed that the Portuguese were completely on board and when inquired whether he had any talk with Ronaldo, he replied, “Several times, yes. We are all on one page. We stated from the beginning that we planned with him. “We are pleased with him, he is pleased to be here, and we hope to have a successful season together.”

Possible Move to Sporting

Earlier to AC Milan transfer reports, there were rumors that Cristiano Ronaldo might return to his home club Sporting CP in Portugal, where he began his football career. At the time, the 37 years old Manchester United striker was hoping to return to Real Madrid. Still, Carlo Ancelotti’s side showed no interest in bringing its former striker back to Bernabeu.

With no offer in sight, some reports claimed that Ronaldo has decided to move back to his home club and considers it his best option. Although the Lisbon-based club was in no way capable of meeting financially what other clubs could offer for Ronaldo, reports considered that the good relationship between the Portugal international and the club might be enough to persuade the legendary striker to end his career where it began.

The Portugal international appeared destined to depart Old Trafford during the summer transfer window, but he has since decided to remain at the club.

Ronaldo’s Struggle At Manchester United

Recently, it became common knowledge that Ronaldo doesn’t want to stay with Manchester United. Firstly, the striker wanted to play in the champions league, while the team under Erick Ten Hag failed to qualify for the premium championship.

And secondly, he is not the priority player at Manchester United, he is not the obvious starter for the game anymore, and that has become a point of contention between the Portugal international and the team management.

The Red Devils signed Cristiano Ronaldo for the second time last August following his return to the Champions League. And the ace player performed to his stature scoring 18 goals in his debut campaign. But the Red Devil’s dismal ensured that the English club wouldn’t participate in the champions league.

Consequently, the experienced striker has already one foot away from his club. He returned late to the pre-season training and missed the summer tour. Besides, when the transfer window opened, he extensively sought a transfer to other European giants like Barcelona, Chelsea, Napoli, etc. However, a deal with anyone of his preference couldn’t materialize, and the striker was stuck with the Red Devils.

But now, a move to AC Milan seems a possibility, and if it happens, CR7 will finally be able to leave the club and all his frustrations behind and be up for a new start.
