Carlos Soler Sixth Signing For PSG
Carlos Soler will be the sixth player to join PSG this summer. Luis Campos has already brought in the French striker Ekitike, Portuguese midfielder Vitinha, French right-back Mukiele, Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches and the Spanish central midfielder Fabián.
Initially, Valencia was reluctant to let go of his star midfielder, and they even tried to renew his contract, but the player made up his mind and made it clear that he wanted to move to PSG. Besides, Luis Campos, the sports director for PSG had to set eyes on Soler and was negotiating hard to bring the player to Le Parc des Princes.
His Former Club Gave Him A Warm Farewell
Soler had spent eighteen years of his football career at Valencia, and leaving the club sparked emotions.
Incidentally, Valencia CF issued a farewell statement, “Carlos Soler had worn the Valencia CF shirt since 2004 when he joined the VCF Academy at the age of seven to play for VCF Benjamín A.
He grew step by step until he became one of the captains of the first team. His first official encounter was on December 10, 2016, against Real Sociedad, and since then, as a result of his strong play, he has maintained his spot in the starting lines.”
Carlos Soler Record At Valencia
Soler joined the Spanish club in 2004 as a young recruit. It was at Valencia that the player honed his football skills and went on to become an integral part of the Valencia squad.
At Valencia, Soler witnessed steady growth till he became captain of the first team.
He Kickstarted his professional football career against Real Sociedad on December 10, 2016. Since then, his Carter graph only followed an upward trajectory reaching a point where he became a regular in the Valencia squad.
At Valencia, he reached new heights in his career, appearing in 215 official matches in all competitions. He scored 39 goals and provided 31 assists while playing for his team. As a part of the Valencia team, he lifted Copa del Rey in 2019 and was a runner-up in 2022.
Moreover, his stellar performance has allowed him to become a regular on the Spanish national team too. Given his performance, Soler has been capped ten times by Spain since his debut in the Spanish team. In short, he is regarded as a versatile player equally capable of playing as a midfielder and or the wings, and at PSG, Soler will indeed be a jewel in the crown.
Soler Moves At Much Lower Fee Than His Actual Market Value
The Valencianista might not be happy with the deal considering the market value of the attacking fielder is far more than they got from the deal.
According to an estimate, the market value of Carlos Soler is around €50 million. However, Parisians were able to acquire his services for half of the player’s perceived market value.
PSG only spent €18 million to bring the player to Germany, although the deal also included €3 million as a variable. The midfielder will now remain with PSG till 2027 and play with the trio of Neymar, Messi, and Mbappé.
At PSG, Carlos Soler will be part of PSG’s offensive rotation system. PSG only has Ekitike and Sarabia to rotate Messi, Neymar and Mbappé. With the addition of Soler, the PSGs think tank will have more depth in their attack department and more options to prevent their amazing trio from burnout.
