Barcelona Better Opponent In First Half
In the first half, Barcelona was a much better team. They were fluid and agile and created some great chances. However, the failure of Lewandowski hurt them the most and cost them the game. Bayern’s midfielder tried hard to get past their half but often failed. Pedri, the young striker from Barcelona’s side, went hard in the 9th minute but could not score. Similarly, Lewandowski got chances in the game’s 18th, 21st, and 43rd minutes but failed miserably against his former teammates.
Moreover, the hosts got lucky too on one occasion, or the lead could have been one-goal smaller. Just before the end of the first half, Ousmane Dembélé and Alphonso Davies intertwined, and Dembélé fell. Slow motion replay revealed that the action corresponded to a foul, but the video assistant didn’t intervene, and Beyarn was spared a penalty.
FC Bayern Aced Second Half
Success came quickly for FC Bayern in the second half. Bayern took a 2-0 lead with a quick double strike. First, Hernandez found himself unchecked at a corner kick. He took no time directing the ball to the nets at the first post.
Next, Right-back Noussair Mazraoui proved the coach’s decision to send him in for the injured Benjamin Pavard when he played to Jamal Musiala, who quickly sent it to Sané’s way. The German winger then juggled past Marc-André ter Stegen and successfully took the shot to the nets.
