After the most memorable outing between the two sides in recent memory, Arsenal’s spectacular win over Spurs this afternoon has seen a wave of bookmakers readjust their prices to odds-on for a Gunners top four finish.
Before today’s lightning North London derby, most bookies had priced Arsenal’s chances of a Champions League finish at no higher than 5/4.
After today’s 4-2 mauling of Tottenham, however, in a display which arguably qualifies as their most impressive performance of the season so far, a number of bookmakers [Skybet, Betfair and PaddyPower] have now readjusted their prices to around 5/6.

Umai Enery’s new look Arsenal are very much in the ascendancy. They have extended their unbeaten run to 19 in all competitions – a huge turn-around from the beginning of a season in which the Gunners lost their first two league games, albeit to title favourites Man City and Chelsea.
But with the championship now seeming set to head back to Man City or possibly Liverpool, the final two Champions League spots have become a de-facto three horse race between the Gunners, Tottenham and Chelsea.
Arsenal do have other options, however. Enery’s previous success with Sevilla – which saw the Spanish side win the Europa league an unprecedented three years on the trot from 2014 through to 2016 – could mean that a top four finish will simply not be necessary for the Gunners to gain entry back into the Champions’ League after what will have been a three year absence.
At 11/2, Arsenal are current favourites to carry off the second greatest prize in European club football, just behind Chelsea who sit as outright favourites on 5/1. And if Chelsea do walk off with the Europa League, then Arsenal will likely simply benefit from a freed slot for Champions League qualification.
