Jamaican singing sensation Dalton Harris is now at 2/9 with Paddy Power to win the X Factor competition this weekend.
Harris has looked like a potential winner ever since his audition, a heartfelt rendition of Elton John’s Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word, and a moment he described as “the most important of my life.” After trying to launch a music career in Jamaica, Harris relocated to London, where he now lives.
Even Simon Cowell, who is mentoring fellow contestant Scarlett Lee, thinks that Harris is the most likely candidate to win. “I would say everyone’s got to beat Dalton Harris at this point,” he told ITV’s This Morning programme.
However, as with all live television, anything can happen. “It probably will – and it should – come down to what happens on the night,” he added.
Indeed, though Harris has dominated thus far, everything could change tomorrow. Harris is talented, likeable and has an inspiring story.
However, second favourite Scarlett Lee also stands a chance. Lee possesses a strong voice, and, most importantly, is scheduled to duet with Robbie Williams on his iconic hit Angels. Should that performance hit the right notes it is quite possible that she could win on Saturday. Lee is priced at 4/1.
Anthony Russell, the third contestant, is little fancied, available at 10/1 to win an 4/5 to come in third place.
