What’s better than a movie about a superhero? A movie about a whole group of superheroes! And when that group is played by some of Hollywood’s sexiest and most charismatic actors, you just can’t go wrong.
According to Paddy Power, Avengers: Endgame will likely smash box office records in the US when it is released on April 26th. The Irish bookmaker is offering odds of just 1/4 on it surpassing the current record of $257,698,183 set by (what else?) another previous Avengers film, Age of Ultron.
Considered to be the most awaited blockbuster release of the year, BoxOffice.com has predicted that the fourth in the Avengers franchise would secure somewhere between $250 and $290 in box office receipts during its three day opening.
This will surely delight Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. The terms of his deal guarantee him a percentage of box office receipts, regularly making him Hollywood’s best paid actor.
The previous Avenger’s film’s cliffhanger ending has taken interest to a new level. Infinity War closed with half of the life in the universe killed due to the actions of arch-villain Thanos, leaving fans to wonder where the story could possibly go from there…
Plot details are scarce at this stage, with the trailer giving away few clues. However, it is worth noting that many of the actors who saw their characters “killed” in Infinity War are returning, including Benedict Cumberbatch as Dr. Strange and Tom Holland as Peter Parker.
Film makers were so keen to keep a lid on spoilers that Holland was not even allowed to have a script. “Tom Holland doesn’t get a script,” said co-director Joe Russo, instead he “gets his lines and that’s it. He doesn’t even know who he’s acting opposite.”
